NERDUNIT <<< INVADING THE JAPANESE STREETWEAR SCENE
Nerdunit had its first pop up store in the Land of the Rising Sun this August & September, in one of the busiest and most fashion-forward city in the world - Tokyo.
The first Nerdunit Japan Pop Up Store was in Gallery X, Shibuya, where Nerdunit launched its “Emblem Camo collection, which debuted at the recent Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2017 in Malaysia. The gallery was decorated with materials like nets and boxes to recreate the guerrilla warfare environment, and a sense of fear and urgency was added through red ambiances to resonate the "Red Neon Soldier Camp".
Nerdunit held its star-studded “Shop in the Dark” launch event on 31st August 2017. Among the media and celebrities who graced the event include top drummer Tatsuya Amano from Crossfaith, Japan top model Seria Kawachi, ex-Flower and E-girls member Ichiki Kyouka, and Sekai from the popular dance group EXILE.
Here are the recaps of what went down.
Nerdunit also teamed up with Japanese popular Youtuber Soshi and top fashionista BB Lion to host the “One Day Tencho” event for our loyal Japanese customers. A lucky customer even won a pair of Limited Edition Nerdunit x Nike Airmax 97 Ultra.
The second Pop Up Store was held at the entrance of Tokyo’s popular Laforet Mall, Harajuku. Laforet Mall is one of the busiest malls in Tokyo and most patronized by fashion-forward customers. An eye-catching structure was built at the main entrance of the mall, utilizing steel cage and huge Emblem neon lightings to create a clean, raw and industrial feel.
During the pop up event, Nerdunit also teamed up with Wowsome and Epson Japan to bring forth the success of the “Nerdunit x Wowsome Personalized Tee” event in Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2017, all the way to Tokyo! As expected, the personalized touch received raved reviews from our Japanese customers.
Congratulations to our winners of the Nerdunit x Nike Airmax 97 Ultra kicks and thank you Japan for the overwhelming support! There is no doubt that we would definitely be back in Japan soon.
